Max Duggan TCU
6015 207 (Arm 30 3/8- 9 7/8 Hands) 4.52 40
+ Deep passing accuracy pops on fades and deep crossers with touch and leads
+ Quick and compact release (outside of patting the ball) Willing to sit in the pocket and deliver
+ Short distance leg usage, more power than finesse and has a touch of heavy of feet (slides), but has good pocket elusiveness
+ Mobility and arm only ability to throw off back foot and also find drags while pedaling back (Michigan)
+ Resetting feet for backside breaking timing routes (Uses eyes to move zone defenders) Eyes stay downfield
+ Flashes recognition to find open windows behind the LOS, but late anticipation and floating towards his target leads to passes batted
+ Inside the pocket mobility
+ Improved through season from trying to stick receivers with the ball into leading them on intermediate throws
+ Recognizes open space to scramble, also open receivers pre-snap by alignment in zone coverage
+ Confidence in clutch situations stand in and to push for the sticks or run for a first down
- Late anticipation to routes breaking open overtop, missed opportunities to throw receivers open on back-shoulders
- Finding anticipation windows in the second level, needs to see receiver clear a window first (receivers too often forced to break stride)
- Lower release point dipping in the release looking for velocity (Touch inconsistencies)
- Adequate accuracy on medium throws, but inconsistent some good and multiple below average and poor charted
- Accuracy often finds issues with underthrows on deep passes which could improve by getting the ball out sooner
- Not finding his hot read, lapses recognizing a free rusher
- Gets locked onto top target, reading safety movement at the snap (but not seeing opposite side safety lurking over) (Kansas)
- Keeps too many bad decisions in play, and had a poor passing stretch vs Kansas 22’
- Base balance through the release allows passes to get loose (pops up on rollouts behind receivers)
Duggan is a developmental QB who lacks ideal height, but has sufficient power, mobility and a big frame tied with toughness. Battled through injury in 2021, but the amount of games already started is concerning for accuracy potential, but route detail could’ve allowed him to thrive more.

+ Anticipation passer on timing routes
+ Decision making, avoids turnovers and putting the ball in harms way (Holds RPOs out) gets the ball thrown away
+ Ball placement awareness for defenders
+ Arm overtop windup allowing for arm angles around defenders (Long arms)
+ Quick feet throw play fakes to set base
- 2nd Level touch
- Base is extremely important, Passes get wobbly
- Outside of the pocket athlete
Anthony Richardson Florida
6040 244 (Arm 32 3/4 - 10 1/2 Hands) 4.43 40
+ 2nd level velocity with ease (shows in right rollouts)
+ Best rushing QB in the class, agility and strength to make the first man miss behind the line with homerun speed
+ Demonstrates anticipation on defender leverage and gets the ball out without needing to see it (will move defenders w/ eyes on schedule)
+ Great agility inside the pocket with eyes downfield when stepping up w/ extremely crafty upside to create wild completions
+ Strength to get the ball thrown away while being held (Big and strong hands in the pocket)
+ Good deep accuracy attacking sidelines and leverage on time
- Lives in two progression system, adding a third backside route isn’t there, finds third read slowly (Will just take-off without pressure)
- Trusting his arm deep way too late in the play or throwing late across the middle, can get lazy underneath in lower body
- Rollouts almost exclusively to the right (may be forced to his left early)
- Rarely asked to make a big time throw on third and medium plus, screens or runs (passes usually short)
- Feel for a hot read and finding the quickest outlet
- Zone coverage feel is lacking, understanding of where defenders are going to be underneath, gets away from reads that would open up as he currently just keys a defender not coverage
- Feel to lead swings, but often does too far out of catch radius
- Happy feet when he feels any type of pressure (very sensitive) but very inconsistent at sensing pressure w/o seeing it
- Throws high w/ pressure in his face, once timing shakes up, needs to refocus his weight as he loses accuracy control (long) too many poor throws charted
- Seam touch is often overthrown and high
Levels concept (3 digs with a backside post) or two man concepts (high/low). Very little passing production is intriguing. Only 3100 career passing yards. He needs to sit and learn to improve his off-schedule accuracy consistency. His understanding and feel for the position is lacking with little game experience (13 starts). Special upside is present as the best “Athlete” at the position, but he has a way to go.
